Hamster Life Expectancy – Factors You Should Know

In captivity, Syrian hamsters (or golden hamsters) and Chinese hamsters usually live 2 to 3 years. Campbell’s dwarf hamsters typically live 1.5 to 3 years. Winter white Russian dwarf hamsters have an average lifespan of 1.5 to 2 years. Roborovskis are the smallest of the pet hamsters, but have the longest lifespan. They can live to about 3.5 years.

Baby Dwarf Hamsters – Development and Care

Dwarf hamsters are perfect animals for those looking to have a sociable, cuddly, and small tinker toy of a pet. They usually vary from 4 cm to 10 cm. And how small do you think a baby dwarf hamster would be? This would be about the size of a quarter! There are a few things that any pet owner would need to consider when they are about to have or already have a baby hamster.

For the first four days, the pup looks very white, bordering to transparent. Only after the fourth day that the pup would start having some color. The shade would be a little darker. At about a week, the pups will begin to have fur. However, their eyes remains closed.
